Agrigento to Palermo - Day 4

After breakfast we tackled driving to Agrigento to drop off the car and catch the train to Palermo.

Everything went smoothly!

We spent the 2 hour train ride admiring the countryside, prepping for Palermo sites and catching up on journals.

For this particular trip we seem to be going from small to big. Palermo is a city and our Airbnb is in the heart of it.

After checking in we went to grab some lunch at a place everyone recommended Bisso Bistrot.

Mike wanted some bread but his hands felt dirty so he improvised…

Sicily has a history of many cultures and Palermo was actually inhabited by the Moors (Moops) for several hundred years so there are lots of influences - Greek, Arab, Spanish and Italian mainland cultures - Makes for interesting architecture and food.

After lunch we wandered the (car-free) streets - Stopped for some groceries and, of course, an espresso.

Back at the Airbnb I decided to do this blog and spent time collecting photos from Mike.
Here are some funny random ones…

This dog is a good example of how everyone looks during the day (hot & tired) - Even the Sicilians.

This last one is the ceiling at our Airbnb.
It’s nicely cooled so we come back during the heat of the day to refresh.

After we cleaned up we went to a delightful Enoteca called EnoteQua.

Then we continued our pizza quest at Mastunicola. It was really good although the thin crust was a little soggy. Great flavors.
