Today we walked our butts off (I hope literally with all the pizza we’re eating). We decided to do the Naples Rick Walk which started at the Archeological museum we’d been at the day before.
This is Naples patron saint - San Gennaro
After our walk we were ready for lunch - So we decided to go to a Naples institution - Pizzeria Trianon da Ciro has been making pizza for 100 years. I think they were having some power issues because we waited outside for quite awhile before they let us in. We were really ready to eat when they finally opened.
After our late lunch we tried to figure out how to spend our afternoon. We thought about a museum but the ones we wanted to see were too far to walk and we couldn't get a taxi. (We found out later the taxis were on strike).
And then a cocktail - I tried a limoncello spritzer...
Naples is a little like Rome in that you’ll be walking around this crazy bustling city and then there’s some ruins that are just there in the middle of everything.
The walk was a great mix of neighborhoods and of churches and other beautiful things.
The Duomo was grand and had a chapel with a fantastic floor.
Nativity scenes are very popular in Naples and we saw a store that sells baby jesus-es to buy for your nativity.
We stopped for an espresso at this cafe that had a shrine to the football player Diego Maradona.

It might've been my favorite of all the places we tried - But I forgot to order cheese (I thought cheese was an automatic topping!) Even still - it was very tasty.
We decided to head north to San Martino - We took a funicular up and took a look around. The neighborhood was much more refined. And there were beautiful views of Naples.
We stopped into the Monastery which also had some interesting artifacts...
And this amazing nativity scene - It was enormous and so intricate.
After the monastery we stopped for another look at the view
This one is for Michelle - We call it, "Italian Lies."
We headed back to the hotel to freshen up. That night we stopped for a drink but had trouble finding a restaurant that could take us - So we settled for bar snacks.
